Creative and Cosmic Connections: My First Exhibit!
It has happened — my first art exhibit is officially live! 🎉 I’m honored (and still a little stunned) to be featured thanks to my uncle Roy, who recommended me for Centennial United Methodist Church’s rotating artist program. Every two months, they showcase new local artists across their two campuses, and this time, the walls are glowing with my cosmic chaos.
You can find my work at both of the church locations until September 27th:
• St. Anthony Park Campus — 2200 W Hillside Ave, St. Paul, MN 55108 Open Sundays an hour before or for a short time after their 10:30 AM service (only briefly after — another group uses the space).
• Roseville Campus — 1542 Co Rd C2 W, Roseville, MN 55113 Open Mondays–Tuesdays 9 AM–1 PM, Wednesdays–Thursdays 9 AM–5 PM, and Sundays an hour before or after their 9–10 AM service. (Closed Fridays and Saturdays — even God needs a break sometimes.)
🎨 A Glimpse of the Exhibit
I have nine paintings at St. Anthony Park and eleven at Roseville. I’ll be sharing the pieces included — along with their accompanying blurbs — in screenshots and photos throughout this post. I’m also including a few pictures from today, including the one with my uncle Roy (below), without whom none of this would be possible. (Thank you, uncle Roy!)
Each painting carries its own story. From Beacon’s quiet starlight, to Quiescent Company’s tribute to my parents, to the pieces shaped by my soul dog Tavi, every work holds a thread of connection — between people, places, and moments that refuse to fade. I would also like to inlcude a special thank you to my sister, Megan, who helped me set this all up. She is my biggest supporter and was such a big help!
🐾 A Tribute to Tavi
No exhibit of mine would be complete without Tavi’s presence. He’s the muse behind Artavi Studio — the steady heartbeat behind so many of these works. Whether he’s immortalized in paint or curled up beside me while I work, his calm energy reminds me why I create: to find light, to share it, and to honor the bonds that make life luminous.
🌙 A Moment for My Parents
I’ve been thinking a lot about my parents throughout this whole process. I know they’d both be proud — the kind of proud that doesn’t need words. I wish my dad could have seen all of this, could have stood in front of these paintings and been part of the moment. And my mom… she used to tell me she loved how calm and happy she noticed painting made me. That memory has become its own kind of light. I miss them both more than I can ever fit into a paragraph, but having my work on these walls feels like carrying a piece of them with me.
💫 Why This Matters
Art has only recently become my way of exploring connection — between science and emotion, between grief and gratitude, between the cosmic and the personal. Seeing these pieces hanging together, surrounded by community, feels like a full‑circle moment.
If you stop by, I hope you’ll feel that same spark — the one that says we’re all part of something bigger, brighter, and beautifully intertwined. Whether you’re an art lover, a science nerd, a church regular, a curious passerby, or someone who just needed a quiet place to breathe for a minute, you’re welcome here.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way — family, friends, mentors, and the kind souls who keep showing up to see what I’ve been up to. And to anyone who’s ever looked up at the night sky and felt a little less alone: this one’s for you.
