16×20-inch on stretched canvas
Red isn’t a color I reach for often, but this piece insisted on it. I went into it with a clear plan: let that bold, rubicund heat take the lead and then guide it into cooler blues and turquoise without losing its pulse. The cells opened exactly the way I hoped, giving the whole thing a sense of movement that feels deliberate rather than chaotic.
I’m really happy with how the contrast settled — loud where it needs to be, quiet where it should breathe.
